Foundation of W+S Messysteme
W+S Messsysteme GmbH was founded at the end of December 1992. W+S stands for Weber (Karl-Heinz Weber) and Sensors Measuring Systems. The first incremental encoders were developed and produced on the premises of Spaichingen, Germany.
Different encoder series like IS410, IS580, IS700 and IS900 were developed gradually and the first series IH490, IH740 and IH950 designed.
After an extended start-up period, the first encoders were manufactured and shipped to our customers. The first major orders started coming in after special encoders were designed and tested. In one particular case the customer was a major manufacturer of commutator motors for the textile industry.
The production quantities of optical rotary encoders grew continuously and the first absolute encoders with parallel outputs were developed and designed. The first encoders were series AS580 as well as series AS700.
The production quantities of Optical Rotary Encoders are continuesly growing and the first Absolute Encoders with parallel outputs were developed and designed. The first Encoders are Series AS580 and also Series AS700.
